Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Search Metric Lab ("the application") handles information, including information accessed through Google services, when it is used for SEO and keyword research.
Google OAuth and Google Ads access
Search Metric Lab may use Google OAuth to request authorization to access Google Ads on behalf of the account owner. This authorization is used to retrieve keyword ideas, search volume, competition, and related search-market data through the Google Ads API for keyword-planning and search research purposes.
Access to Google Ads information is limited to what is required to provide this keyword research and search-planning functionality, and only occurs after the Google account owner has authorized the connection.
How Google user data is used
- Google user data is not sold.
- Google user data is not shared with third parties, except service providers necessary to operate the specific functionality requested by the user, if applicable.
- Google user data is not used for personalized or interest-based advertising.
- Authentication tokens and credentials obtained through Google OAuth are used only to provide the functionality the user has requested (such as retrieving keyword and search data), and are not used for any unrelated purpose.
Revoking access
Users can revoke Search Metric Lab's access to their Google account at any time through their Google Account permissions page.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers how the application uses data obtained through Google OAuth and the Google Ads API. It does not make claims about specific security controls, encryption methods, data retention periods, deletion timelines, data storage locations, or compliance certifications, as these have not been independently verified for this application at the time of publishing.
